It seeks to provide elements for discussion on the relationship between legal reasoning and governance, based on the systematic review of the scientific evidence available in SCOPUS, regarding both concepts. As a method, the search in SCOPUS of the terms “legal reasoning” and “governance” was carried out, discarding the articles that are not available for free download. This search resulted in 4,267 references alluding to legal reasoning and 167,568 to governability. After its review, it is concluded that governance emerges as an imperative to have a democratic environment, since it is related to government effectiveness and regulatory quality. Meanwhile, legal reasoning allows reasoning about explanations and critical questions that point to sources of doubt. It is concluded that governance is sustained in a legal framework, and this in turn in legal reasoning. The relationship between the two allows the status quo to be maintained
